(1) Government of Nepal may employ any person on contract basis if any of the conditions mentioned in rule 3 occur 2) Such an agreement can be made for a maximum period of 2 years only and if necessary, the agreement period can be extended once again for another 2 years. However, if there is a special situation, some experts can be employed in contractual service for up to 5 years at a time.
(3) When the Government of Nepal signs a contract, the work and duties to be performed by the person to be employed under the contract, the remuneration and facilities to be received by him, the period of employment and other conditions of service shall be clearly mentioned, and a copy of the contract shall be signed by him and the employing officer on behalf of the Government of Nepal. He and one copy should be kept in the concerned office.
